Pre-Tensioned Concrete Application

This technique consists of applying stresses prior to the entry into service of a structure by tensioning the steel wires or strands that make up the active part of the reinforcement of a prefabricated element, and is carried out before concreting and gives the element special characteristics in terms of shape and strength.

This process, generally carried out in specialized fixed installations, is used to manufacture various concrete elements such as hollow core slabs, pre-slabs, joists or large delta beams, as well as special pieces for trough-type bridges, among others. At Galcore we produce single wires and seven-wire strands in various diameters and formats to meet the different needs of our customers in terms of cross-sections and technical characteristics.
